Mr. Bob Burnett was born in Elizabeth, NJ and grew up in Roselle Park, NJ. As a child his family faithfully attended a United Methodist church but Bob does not have any recollection of hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While in the US Air Force, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Bob met his wife Ellen then a school teacher in Biloxi. They married on July 25, 1970. Bob and Ellen began to attend Fellowship Church, Phillipsburg, NJ in the mid 1980s. Pastor Tom Smith, current pastor of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, was, at that time, lead pastor of the Fellowship Church. Bob came to faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the summer of 1985. Bob and Ellen joined Sovereign Grace Baptist in the 1990s. Bob became a deacon sometime after. In addition to his responsibilities as a deacon Bob, along with a fellow deacon, manages the church’s savings and works, with a fellow deacon, in a nursing home ministry. Bob and Ellen have one daughter and four grand daughters.
